- Primary Mechanism
- Modulation of immune response via gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) to reduce joint inflammation (Undenatured Type II)
- Standardized Form
- Undenatured Type II Collagen (e.g., UC-II) or Native Collagen
Collagen is a complex structural protein made primarily of three amino acids: glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. In its undenatured (native) form, particularly Type II collagen, it works through a unique mechanism in the gut called oral tolerance, which helps modulate the immune system to stop attacking joint cartilage in conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. For skin and systemic tissue rebuilding, it must be broken down into peptides.

Clinical Summary
Clinically supported for improving joint mobility, reducing osteoarthritis pain, and supporting the structural integrity of connective tissues. Undenatured forms work via immune modulation, while hydrolyzed forms provide structural building blocks.
Dosage Guidelines
Typically 40mg daily for Undenatured Type II Collagen (UC-II).
