Green Tea Extract

A highly concentrated source of catechins, notably EGCG, known for profound antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Clinical Profile

Green tea extract provides the concentrated health benefits of green tea leaves. Its active compound, Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), has been extensively studied for its cellular protective effects, metabolic benefits, and cardiovascular support.

Clinical Summary

Robust evidence supports its use for metabolic health and antioxidant defense. It may help protect hearing structures by mitigating free radical damage induced by environmental noise or the aging process.

Dosage Guidelines

250-500mg daily. Best taken with food to prevent nausea and maximize absorption.

Safety & Side Effects

Can cause jitteriness if it contains caffeine. Liver toxicity is a rare but serious risk at extremely high doses (above 800mg EGCG/day) taken on an empty stomach.

Known Interactions

Interacts with nadolol (a beta-blocker) and may reduce the absorption of non-heme iron and folate.
