Primary Mechanism
Direct stimulation of fibroblasts and chondrocytes to synthesize extracellular matrix proteins
Standardized Form
Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptides (Bovine, Marine, or Porcine)

In dietary supplements, "Peptides" almost exclusively refers to Bioactive Collagen Peptides (Hydrolyzed Collagen). Because whole collagen molecules are too large to cross the intestinal wall, enzymatic hydrolysis breaks them into short chains of amino acids (peptides). Once in the bloodstream, these specific peptides act as signaling molecules, binding to receptors on fibroblasts (in skin) and chondrocytes (in joints) to stimulate the endogenous production of new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.

Clinical Summary

Extensively validated in randomized controlled trials to significantly improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkle depth, and support joint cartilage regeneration over 8 to 12 weeks of continuous use.

Dosage Guidelines

2,500mg to 15,000mg (2.5g - 15g) daily, depending on the targeted tissue.

Safety & Side Effects

Generally well tolerated. Can cause mild digestive upset or a feeling of heaviness in the stomach if taken in massive single doses.

Known Interactions

No known significant pharmacological interactions.
