An essential trace mineral vital for immune system function, testosterone production, and cellular repair. It is particularly noted for reducing the duration of the common cold when administered via lozenges.

Dosage Guidelines

15-30mg elemental zinc daily. Do not exceed 40mg daily long-term without supplementing copper (zinc depletes copper over time).

Safety & Side Effects

Nausea or stomach upset, especially if taken on an empty stomach. Long-term excessive dosing can cause copper deficiency.

Known Interactions

Reduces the absorption of certain antibiotics and penicillamine. Dairy products (calcium) and phytates (grains) can inhibit zinc absorption.
